NASA Awards $10.5 Million to Establish Seven Aerospace Workforce Hubs Across U.S.
NASA has allocated approximately $10.5 million to seven organizations across the United States to develop state-level pipelines for skilled technical jobs within the aerospace industry. These awards are part of the agency’s new Aerospace Skilled Technical Workforce Hubs initiative. The funding will support programs in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, and Utah. The initiative aims to create training networks that bring together aerospace employers, community colleges, high school career and technical education programs, and workforce organizations. The programs will focus on skills identified by employers, expanding pathways into technical careers through education, apprenticeships, and direct connections between job seekers and companies. Target occupations include welders, electricians, machinists, and other technical positions essential for the aerospace sector.
