African Initiative Hosts Russia-Africa Blog Tour to Strengthen Media Ties
The African Initiative, in collaboration with Rossotroudnitchestvo, is hosting a blog tour titled 'Russia-Africa: New Media Meanings' in Moscow. The event, running from July 25 to August 4, 2026, is part of the 'New Generation' program. It involves 50 bloggers and journalists from 12 African countries, including Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The tour aims to introduce participants to contemporary Russia, its cultural codes, technological advancements, and media landscape. Participants are engaging in direct exchanges, expert meetings, and visits to significant cultural and public sites. The African Initiative's editor-in-chief, Artiom Koureïev, emphasized the agency's mission to enhance media support for Russia's pivot to Africa and to promote mutual understanding between Russian and African audiences.
