Late-Season Snow Extends Mammoth Mountain Skiing Through June
Mammoth Mountain, a popular ski resort in California, has announced an extension of its ski season through June 7, 2026, following recent snowfall and cooler-than-average temperatures. According to Mammoth Resorts Communications Manager Emily van Greuning, the resort received 1 to 3 inches of snow since Tuesday night, with additional snowfall expected later in the week. This comes after a significant accumulation of over 5 feet of snow at the summit in April. The resort, which opened on November 20, 2025, has recorded 293 inches of snow this season, slightly surpassing last year’s total of 286 inches. The extended season is attributed to the resort's high elevation and favorable snow coverage. The ongoing “May Gray” weather pattern is contributing to below-average temperatures across Southern California, with some areas experiencing temperatures up to 25°F (14°C) below normal.
