Plainfield, Illinois police department seized 650 rolls of toilet paper, labeling the operation 'Clean Sweep,' after receiving numerous complaints about escalating homecoming pranks. The police had previously issued warnings to students about pranks crossing the line into property damage. Residents reported that groups of 20 to 25 individuals, often masked and in multiple vehicles, were targeting homes and vehicles with toilet paper, eggs, ketchup, and detergent pods. These incidents occurred over two nights, primarily in the area surrounding Plainfield North High School, with calls for service peaking shortly after 7 p.m. The targets included homes with small children and residents without any high school affiliations, indicating the pranks were not limited to classmates or friends. Police humorously estimated the 'street value' of the confiscated toilet paper at $1,708.66.
