Severe Storms Cause Tree Damage and Power Outages Across Connecticut

Notable incidents included a tree falling onto a house and car in Wethersfield and limbs downed across Washington Street in Middletown. Additional tree and branch damage was reported in central and southern parts of the state. In Stamford, a loose American flag became entangled in electrical transmission lines near the World Wrestling Entertainment building, causing power outages for approximately 5,000 customers. Eversource restored power to 3,000 of those customers within 20 minutes. Cleanup efforts continued into Sunday morning as residents dealt with the aftermath of the storms.
