Chicago's Lollapalooza Faces Delays Due to Severe Weather and Flood Warnings
Chicago's Lollapalooza music festival is experiencing significant delays on its third day due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and flooding risks. The festival, held at Grant Park, has postponed its opening until 3 p.m. as a result of overnight and ongoing heavy rains. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the Chicago area until 7 p.m., with a Flood Warning extended for several counties including Cook, DuPage, and Kane until 3 p.m. Attendees are advised to prepare for waves of rain, thunderstorms, and potential funnel clouds throughout the day. The City of Chicago and festival organizers have implemented safety measures, including setting up shelter sites at Grant Park North, Grant Park South, and the Millennium Lakeside Garages. Despite the weather, festivalgoers have been seen wearing rain gear, as umbrellas are not permitted inside the festival grounds.
