Iran Executes Man Accused of Collaborating with Mossad and CIA, Highlighting Espionage Tensions
Iran has executed Erfan Shakourzadeh, a 29-year-old aerospace engineering graduate, who was convicted of collaborating with Israel's Mossad and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). According to Iranian state news outlets Mizan and Tasmin, Shakourzadeh was accused of sharing classified scientific information related to satellite activities with foreign intelligence services. The Iranian authorities claimed that Shakourzadeh had attempted to contact enemy intelligence services in three stages, involving both Mossad and the CIA. This execution is part of a broader crackdown by Iran on alleged spies and Mossad-linked cells. The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced the dismantling of two armed cells associated with Mossad, with arrests made across six provinces. One operative was reportedly killed during an armed clash. These developments come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with Iran frequently claiming to have arrested individuals linked to Mossad.
