Bowling Green State University Partners with Leadership Ohio for Civic Engagement and Dialogue Event
Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is collaborating with Leadership Ohio to host a civic engagement and dialogue event on October 7. This interactive event aims to bring together leaders from various sectors, including business, government, education, and healthcare, to foster civil discourse and community engagement. Hosted by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement and the Democracy and Public Policy Network, the event, titled "Modeling Constructive Dialogue on Hard Local Choices," will encourage participants to explore diverse perspectives and learn strategies for navigating disagreement. Keynote speakers will include Christina Muryn, Mayor of Findlay, Ohio, and Sheretta Smith, Mayor of Lima, Ohio, who will share insights and lead discussions on civic topics. Robert Alexander, Ph.D., founding director of the Democracy and Public Policy Network, emphasized that the goal is to help students engage civilly and develop necessary skills for constructive dialogue.
