Elbit Systems Opens New Drone Facility in Romania to Boost European Defense
Elbit Systems, an Israeli defense company, has inaugurated a new unmanned aerial systems facility in Chitila, Romania. This marks the company's seventh production site in the country, underscoring its commitment to enhancing local industry and European defense capabilities. The facility is part of the Watchkeeper XR program and will focus on the production, integration, testing, and maintenance of advanced drone platforms. The opening ceremony was attended by Romanian government and military officials, as well as senior executives from Elbit Systems. The new facility aims to provide the Romanian armed forces with modern, battle-tested capabilities, while also promoting national self-sufficiency in defense technology.
