Congressman Raul Ruiz Presents Federal Checks for Development Projects in Imperial County
Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz visited Imperial County to present federal funding for two major development projects. On April 7, Ruiz participated in ceremonies in Holtville and Imperial, where he presented checks to support local infrastructure. In Holtville, a $2 million check was awarded for the construction of a new Public Safety Facility, which will house the Sheriff's Office substation and the Holtville Fire Department. The facility, planned to be built on donated land, will be developed in phases, with the first phase focusing on administrative offices and dormitory facilities. Meanwhile, in Imperial, Ruiz presented a $1.5 million check to assist with the design of a regional community park. The park, spanning 143 acres, will feature multi-use trails, basketball courts, a botanical garden, an amphitheater, and playground facilities. These projects aim to enhance community infrastructure and provide recreational opportunities for residents.
