PennDOT Announces Virtual Public Display for Interstate 84 Bridge Rehabilitation Project
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a virtual plans display for the Interstate 84 Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which will be accessible online from September 1, 2026, through October 1, 2026. This project addresses the critical maintenance needs of the four-span steel bridge carrying Interstate 84 over Roaring Brook and the Lackawanna Railroad Authority. The scope of work includes replacing all rocker bearings at Abutment 1, Pier 1, and Pier 3 for both eastbound and westbound structures. Additionally, the project involves expansion joint seal repairs, spot painting the superstructure, installing downspout extensions, performing concrete repairs on the substructures, removing timber debris, and cleaning the bridge.
