Casely Wireless Chargers Recalled After Fatal Incident and Fire on Plane
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in collaboration with Casely, has reannounced a recall of approximately 429,000 Casely Power Pods 5000mAh portable MagSafe wireless phone chargers. This action follows a tragic incident where a 75-year-old woman from New Jersey died after the charger caught fire and exploded, causing severe burns. Additionally, a separate incident occurred in February where a 47-year-old woman sustained first-degree burns when the charger ignited on an airplane. The chargers, which were initially recalled in April 2025 due to overheating and fire risks, have been sold on the Casely website, Amazon, and other online platforms between March and September 2024.
