Anthropic Extends AI Deal with General Services Administration for Claude for Government
Anthropic has extended its OneGov deal with the General Services Administration (GSA) for its AI model, Claude for Government, by one month. The agreement, which was initially set to expire at the end of the current month, will now remain active until October 31. This extension allows federal agencies to continue utilizing Claude's AI capabilities under the existing $1 per user deal. The GSA has not yet provided an official comment regarding this extension. This development follows a recent agreement between OpenAI and the GSA for ChatGPT models, which offers discounted, consumption-based pricing until December 31, 2028, replacing a previous $1 per agency deal. The GSA has expressed its openness to engaging with additional AI technology companies to expand choices, increase competition, and deliver value to taxpayers through the OneGov program.
