Jordanian Lawmakers Review Uranium Exploration and Nuclear Program Development
The Lower House Energy and Mineral Resources Committee of Jordan conducted a visit to the Jordan Uranium Mining Company (JUMCO) to evaluate the progress of the state-backed enterprise in mineral exploration and strategic mining projects. The delegation, which included lawmakers Jamal Qammoh, Khader Bani Khaled, Rakeen Abu Hanieh, and Iman Al-Abbasi, met with Khaled Toukan, Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission, and Mohammad Al-Shannag, General Manager of JUMCO. The visit aimed to assess JUMCO's ongoing operations in central Jordan, which are part of a national project to enhance the domestic economy and attract foreign direct investment in the mining and energy sectors.
