Covington City Leaders Advance Goebel Park Master Plan Amid Public Feedback
Covington, Kentucky, is actively working on the Goebel Park master plan as part of the broader Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. The city held an open house on July 28 to gather public input, following a virtual session earlier in the project's first phase. The park, located in the Mainstrasse neighborhood, is a key landmark whose future is influenced by nearby development projects. The city has partnered with KZF Design, a Cincinnati-based architecture firm, to lead the planning process. The open house presented preliminary renderings for Goebel Park and the adjacent Kenney Shields Park, featuring natural areas and amenities like basketball and pickleball courts. Attendees were encouraged to provide feedback through surveys and comments. The plan aims to enhance park facilities, improve connectivity, and reimagine underused spaces, ensuring alignment with community values and goals.
