Chattanooga Store Owner and Employees Charged in Gambling, Drug, and EBT Fraud Bust
A Chattanooga convenience store owner, Mohamed Selah, and several of his employees are facing multiple charges following an investigation into alleged gambling, drug, and EBT fraud. Authorities, including Chattanooga Housing Authority investigators, Police officers, and ATF agents, executed a search warrant at the One Stop Shop on Grove Street on August 14. The investigation identified Selah and two employees, Chartavius Kellogg and Latrice Dowdy, as primary targets in a drug probe. During the search, officers discovered two loaded firearms, over $2,200 in cash, Percocet pills, and pressed fentanyl pills in Selah's car and the store. Additionally, EBT cards not registered to Selah were found. A neighboring property, the West Side Fish and Chicken restaurant, was found to house a gambling room with illegal gambling machines and card readers. Both businesses are located within school zones.
