Led By Donkeys Secures Compensation for Seized Gaza Protest Banner
The campaign group Led By Donkeys has received £27,000 in compensation after a banner they displayed in Parliament Square, London, was seized and destroyed by Greater London Authority officials. The banner, which read 'Yes It’s A Genocide', was part of a protest against Israel's actions in Gaza. The compensation was paid by Veolia, the company responsible for the banner's disposal. Led By Donkeys pursued compensation to defend the right to protest and highlight the differential treatment of Palestine-related activism in the UK.
