North Carolina Congressman Chuck Edwards has announced his withdrawal from the re-election campaign for District 11. This decision follows a recommendation from the U.S. House Committee on Ethics for censure, based on allegations of creating a hostile workplace and providing inappropriate gifts to female staffers. Despite these allegations, a spokesperson for Edwards stated that the committee's report cleared him of any sexual misconduct or explicit propositions. Edwards plans to complete his current term, and his withdrawal leaves the local Republican party to select a new candidate for the upcoming election.
