Congressman Langworthy Announces Over $3.2 Million in FEMA Funding for Erie County Winter Storm Recovery
Congressman Nick Langworthy has announced that Erie County, New York, will receive $3,260,556.21 in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This funding is intended to reimburse the county for emergency protective measures undertaken during Winter Storm Elliott, a severe winter storm that impacted Western New York in December 2022. The FEMA award covers 75 percent of eligible costs incurred by Erie County between December 22 and December 31, 2022. These costs, totaling over $4.3 million, include $779,534.21 for employee overtime, $113,838.21 for emergency materials, $67,469.95 for rental equipment, and $3,386,565.90 for contracted emergency response services.
