Rohto Cooling Eye Drops Recalled Nationwide Over Sterility Concerns
A recall has been initiated for over 11 million cartons of Rohto Cooling Eye Drops due to sterility concerns. The recall affects eight varieties of the product, including ALL-IN-ONE, Max Strength, and Optic Glow, with expiration dates from July 2026 to February 2029. These products, manufactured by Rohto-Mentholatum in Vietnam and distributed by The Mentholatum Company in New York, were recalled after the FDA identified a lack of assurance of sterility, which could pose a risk of contamination by harmful microbes. The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating that the use of these products may cause temporary or reversible health effects but are unlikely to result in serious consequences. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected products and can return them for a full refund.
