Piedmont Natural Gas Lowers Rates, Offers Relief to Customers in North and South Carolina
Piedmont Natural Gas has announced a reduction in its rates by 4.35%, effective June 1, providing some financial relief to its customers in central and eastern North Carolina and Northeast South Carolina. This decision comes after a challenging winter season where many households faced high heating bills due to consecutive winter storms. With over 135,000 residents still behind on payments, the rate reduction is expected to save the average residential customer approximately $54 annually. This is part of a series of rate adjustments by Piedmont, which has already lowered rates by a total of 8% since the beginning of the year, with reductions in January, February, and April.
