Zoom Security Flaw Exploited Using AI Prompts, Patched by Company
A significant security vulnerability in Zoom was discovered by researchers at A Security, who used fewer than 20 AI prompts to uncover the flaw. The vulnerability involved Zoom's annotation feature, allowing attackers to execute malicious code on participants' devices without their knowledge. This could lead to data theft, unauthorized camera or microphone activation, and malware installation. The exploit, which required no user action, was quickly patched by Zoom, affecting multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
