Zelenskyy Seeks President Trump's Help to Expand Starlink Use for Strikes on Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approached President Donald Trump and other U.S. officials to gain permission from Elon Musk to use the Starlink satellite communications system for targeting strikes inside Russia. This request is part of Zelenskyy's strategy to find alternatives to U.S. Patriot air defense systems, which are in limited supply due to ongoing conflicts involving the U.S. and Israel against Iran. During a recent visit to Washington, Zelenskyy discussed this matter with Trump in the Oval Office and later with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Although Musk has allowed Starlink's use within Ukraine, including Russian-occupied areas, he has restricted its use inside Russia. Zelenskyy's request aims to enhance the accuracy of Ukraine's long-range and intermediate-range systems. The White House and SpaceX have not commented on the request.
