Northern Lights Expected Across Northern U.S., Not Visible in Arizona
A strong geomagnetic storm driven by solar activity, including multiple solar flares and coronal mass ejections, is expected to make the northern lights visible across parts of the northern United States on June 4 and 5, 2026. The aurora borealis, caused by charged particles from the Sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field, may produce vibrant displays of green, pink, and purple light. However, Arizona is too far south to experience this phenomenon during this event. The best viewing times are between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time in areas with dark skies.
