New Sonoma County Courthouse Opens in Santa Rosa, Replacing 60-Year-Old Facility
The new Sonoma County Superior Court courthouse has officially opened in Santa Rosa, replacing the outdated 60-year-old building. The new Hall of Justice, located at 625 Administration Drive, features a seven-level structure with modern facilities. It includes a public counter, self check-in for courts, and traffic court on the ground floor, with various courtrooms on higher levels handling different types of cases. The project, first proposed in 2011, was part of a statewide courthouse construction initiative funded by Senate Bill 1407. The building's construction was completed with a budget of $231.7 million, sourced from court fees, penalties, and the state's general fund.
