Dutch Plant Begins Production of Combat-Zone Robots for Ukraine, Enhancing Military Capabilities
Milrem Robotics, an Estonian company, has opened a new assembly line in the Netherlands for its THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). This facility, operated in partnership with VDL Defentec, is set to produce over 100 robots for the Dutch government, which will be sent to support Ukrainian forces. The THeMIS UGVs are versatile, capable of being equipped for various battlefield roles, including assault, reconnaissance, and logistics. Ukrainian forces have been using these robots since 2022, finding them effective in combat. The new production line is designed for rapid scaling, allowing for increased output as needed.
