Extreme Heat Persists Across Green Country with Heat Indices Near 110°F
Green Country, including Tulsa, Oklahoma, is experiencing prolonged extreme heat conditions. Temperatures are expected to reach near 100°F (37.8°C) during the day, with heat indices climbing as high as 110°F (43.3°C). A heat dome is expanding eastward over Oklahoma, maintaining high temperatures and increasing low-level moisture, which exacerbates heat stress. While skies remain mostly clear, southeastern Oklahoma may see a few clouds. There is a slight chance of isolated showers or storms Saturday night into Sunday, but the probability is less than 10%. Longer-range forecasts suggest potential relief with cooler temperatures and rain by mid-next week, though drought conditions continue to worsen in the area.
