New Mexico Launches 250 Flags Project to Honor Community Heroes
The Albuquerque Journal and 96.3 KKOB have initiated the 250 Flags project to recognize 250 individuals across New Mexico for their service and commitment to their communities. This initiative is part of the celebration of America's 250th anniversary. The project aims to honor active-duty military, veterans, first responders, educators, healthcare workers, nonprofit leaders, and everyday citizens whose contributions form the backbone of the state. Nominations are open to the public, allowing any New Mexican to submit a nominee through an online form. A selection panel will review submissions and announce the honorees from May 4 to July 3, culminating in a special Independence Day publication.
