Maine Department of Education Offers Professional Learning and Launches Green Schools Workshops
The Maine Department of Education (DOE), in collaboration with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Child and Family Services, is providing professional learning opportunities for early care and education professionals. These include 'Young Mathematicians,' designed for educators working with children aged 3-6, and 'Emergent Literacy Professional Learning for Early Childhood Educators,' offered in partnership with the Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network (MRTQ PDN). Additionally, the Maine DOE is launching the Green Schools Peer Learning Workshops, a series aimed at helping school districts build long-term structures for sustainability. The department will also host its 16th Annual PBIS Conference on November 19, 2026, at the Augusta Civic Center, a collaboration with the University of Maine System (UMS).
