Rescue Teams Save Man from Gorge Under Washington State Bridge
A man was dramatically rescued from beneath the High Steel Bridge in Mason County, Washington, after falling down a steep embankment. The incident occurred when the man attempted to retrieve his drone and slipped, becoming stranded in the slick, mountainous terrain. Emergency responders, including Mason County Search and Rescue and Olympic Mountain Rescue, conducted a technical rope operation to lift the man to safety. The rescue involved ten members of the Olympic Mountain Rescue team, who successfully hoisted the man back up without injury. The area beneath the bridge is closed by federal order due to its dangerous conditions, which have previously resulted in injuries and fatalities.
