Keep Columbus Beautiful Organizes Week-Long Earth Day Events to Promote Environmental Stewardship
Keep Columbus Beautiful (KCB) is organizing a series of events to celebrate Earth Day, which marks its 56th anniversary on April 22. The events, starting on April 18, aim to engage the public in environmental stewardship and sustainability. Lisa Thomas-Cutts, the executive director of KCB, stated that the initiative is designed to encourage public participation in various activities throughout the week. The events include city cleanups, a recycling challenge, composting initiatives, and energy awareness activities. On April 18, KCB will host cleanups at three locations in the city. The Fill the Bin Challenge on April 20 encourages residents to fill their recycling bins and share photos on social media. Composting opportunities are highlighted on April 21 at the Columbus Botanical Garden. Earth Day on April 22 focuses on energy awareness, and April 25 features a free paper shredding event.
