Sistema.bio's EKAFI Biogas Project Promotes Clean Energy and Sustainable Agriculture in Rural India
Sistema.bio, in collaboration with Escorts Kubota Limited and the EKL CSR Foundation, has implemented the EKAFI Biogas Project in Haryana, India. The project aims to provide clean energy and promote sustainable agriculture by installing biogas systems in rural households. These systems convert livestock waste into biogas for cooking and produce bioslurry as an organic fertilizer. The initiative has been implemented in two phases, installing 250 biodigesters across Kaithal and Kurukshetra districts. The project addresses challenges such as dependence on conventional cooking fuels, inefficient waste management, and high agricultural input costs. By providing clean cooking fuel and reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers, the project supports improved soil health and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
