Rep. Laura Gillen and Colleagues Introduce Right to IVF Act to Expand Access
Congressional Democrats, led by Representatives Laura Gillen, Lori Trahan, Rosa DeLauro, Rick Larsen, and James Walkinshaw, have introduced the 'Right to IVF Act'. This legislation aims to expand access to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies. The bill seeks to make these technologies more affordable and accessible by mandating broader insurance coverage, including for servicemembers, veterans, government employees, and individuals with employer-sponsored, Medicaid, Medicare, and ACA plans. The bill has garnered significant support, with 119 House cosponsors and 46 Senate supporters, and is backed by several medical, advocacy, and legal groups.
