Storm Bram Causes Significant Travel Disruption Across Wales
Storm Bram has caused widespread flooding and travel disruptions across Wales following a night of heavy rain and strong winds. The Prince of Wales Bridge on the M4 was closed due to corroded lamp-posts at risk of falling, reopening at 6:00 GMT on Wednesday. Roads in Gwynedd, Powys, Pembrokeshire, and Monmouthshire were closed due to flooding, and rail lines were blocked, causing delays. Natural Resources Wales issued 11 flood warnings and 29 flood alerts, primarily in south and west Wales. The Met Office had a yellow warning for wind and rain, with gusts reaching up to 85 mph in some areas. Over 1,600 properties in south and west Wales were without power as of Tuesday evening.
