Seattle Light Rail Service Resumes After Train Derailment
Sound Transit light rail service in Seattle resumed after an out-of-service train derailed near the International District/Chinatown station late Saturday night. The derailment occurred as thousands were leaving an Ed Sheeran concert at Lumen Field. No passengers were on board, and no injuries were reported. The incident caused significant disruptions, with parts of the 1 and 2 Lines suspended for several hours. Shuttle buses were used to transport passengers between affected stations. Sound Transit is investigating the cause of the derailment, which is only the second of its kind since 2009.
