Obituary: Marcia Ann Nye, Beloved Artist and Educator, Passes Away at 78
Marcia Ann Nye, a cherished artist and educator, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, at the age of 78 in Juneau, Alaska. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Nye was known for her adventurous spirit and deep love for Alaska, where she spent much of her life. She was an advocate for education and empowerment, touching many lives through her work. Nye was also an elected official and a supporter of the arts. Her family, including her husband Mark Badger and her children, survive her. A celebration of her life will be held on November 28 at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Juneau.
