Saint Louis Suburb Launches 'Hometown Hero' Banners to Honor Military Members
The suburb of Arnold, Missouri, has initiated a 'Hometown Hero Banner' program to honor military members, both current and veterans. The program allows residents to apply for custom banners featuring a military member's name, picture, and branch of service. These banners will be displayed on light poles along Michigan Avenue, a main thoroughfare in Arnold. The initiative, launched by the Arnold Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Arnold Veterans Commission, aims to recognize the service and sacrifice of military personnel. The banners, which cost $100, will be displayed from January to October 2027, with the possibility of annual renewal.
