Maui County Farm Bureau Honors Dr. Harold Keyser at AgFest for Contributions to Agriculture
Dr. Harold Keyser was recognized as the Maui Legacy Farmer at the Maui AgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair, an event organized by the Maui County Farm Bureau. The event took place on May 30 at the War Memorial Special Events Field. Dr. Keyser, a retired Maui County administrator and former professor at the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience, has made significant contributions to agriculture in Maui. His work as a soil microbiologist has been instrumental in supporting local farmers and promoting agricultural innovation. The recognition was part of the Maui Legacy Farmers Pancake Breakfast, a tradition since 2016, celebrating the contributions of farmers and agricultural families. Dr. Keyser's son, Jonathan, is continuing his father's legacy by co-founding Native Nursery LLC, which focuses on native Hawaiian and Polynesian plants.
