Lightning Strike Leaves Woman in Critical Condition in Colorado
A woman was struck by lightning while walking on a suburban path in Superior, Colorado, on Thursday evening. Bystanders who heard the lightning strike found her unresponsive and performed CPR until emergency responders arrived. The woman, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, was not carrying identification, and her phone was severely damaged. She was airlifted to a hospital in Denver, where she remains in critical condition. Colorado experiences approximately 500,000 lightning strikes to the ground annually, and ranks third in the U.S. for lightning fatalities, according to the National Weather Service and the Lightning Safety Council. Authorities are seeking help from the community to identify the victim and connect her with her family.
