Tractor-Trailer Collision and Fire Shuts Down I-65 North in Robertson County
In Robertson County, Tennessee, a collision between two tractor-trailers resulted in a fire that shut down I-65 North for several hours. The incident occurred at 6:27 a.m. near mile marker 105, just north of the Bethel Road exit. According to a preliminary report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2019 International tractor driven by a 48-year-old from Georgia failed to stay in its lane and struck a stationary 2020 Freightliner on the right shoulder. The Freightliner, driven by a 34-year-old from Rhode Island, was occupied at the time of the collision. Both vehicles caught fire, but only minor injuries were reported. Traffic was diverted at Exit 104 while emergency crews extinguished the fire and cleared the wreckage. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reopened all lanes by 11:05 a.m., with plans to return for further cleanup in the evening.
