FAA and Ohio Senators Oppose Closure of Burke Lakefront Airport, Countering Mayor Bibb's Plan
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Ohio's U.S. Senators, Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted, have explicitly opposed the proposed closure of Burke Lakefront Airport (KBKL) in Cleveland. This stance directly counters Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb's initiative to close the airport by the end of 2029 to redevelop the land for parks and public use.
