Israeli Defense Ministry Contractor Killed by Drone in Southern Lebanon
A civilian contractor working for Israel's Defense Ministry, Amer Hujairat, was killed in southern Lebanon when a drone struck the bulldozer he was operating. Hujairat, aged 44, was involved in the demolition of buildings in the region on behalf of a private company. His 19-year-old son, who was also present, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed. The incident occurred amidst heightened tensions on Israel's northern border, with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reporting an earlier unsuccessful attempt to intercept a Hezbollah drone in the same area. The IDF has maintained its Home Front Command guidelines, allowing gatherings of up to 1,500 people in certain northern communities, as tensions persist.
