Historic Land Conservation Deal Finalized in Maine
A significant land conservation deal has been finalized in Maine, protecting 78,000 acres in north Oxford County. This effort, known as the Magalloway project, creates a 500,000-acre wildlife corridor connecting conserved areas in New Hampshire and Maine. The $62 million deal involves four conservation groups and aims to protect the land from development. The project supports Maine's goal of conserving 30% of its land by 2030, with ecological restoration efforts already underway.
