Greta Olson Rusk's Legacy of Service and Family Remembered in Obituary
Greta Olson Rusk, a dedicated community member and former educator, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on July 20, 2026. Born in Chicago in 1935, Greta was the eldest of three sisters. She graduated with honors from Loyola University and began her career teaching first graders in Lincoln Park. Greta married Tom in 1958, and together they adopted three children. Her life was marked by service, including roles as an occupational therapist and a substitute Spanish teacher. Greta was deeply involved with St. Francis de Sales Parish, where she served as Director of Care Ministries for 21 years. Her commitment to helping others and her love for her family were central to her life. Greta's passing is mourned by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and community members.
