Oklahoma City Faces Record Heat on Labor Day, Relief Expected Later This Week
Oklahoma City is experiencing its hottest Labor Day in the past nine years, with temperatures soaring above 100°F (37.8°C) across much of the state. While some areas, including eastern Oklahoma and the Panhandle, received brief rain showers, the heat remains intense statewide. Overnight lows are also warmer than average, dipping only into the mid-70s°F (23-24°C). A weak front is expected to enter the northwest on Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of storms. A more significant cold front is forecasted to arrive on Thursday, potentially lowering high temperatures into the 90s°F (32-37°C) and increasing rain chances. A second front may bring further cooling and additional rain by the end of next weekend.
