Pompano Beach Warehouse Fire Contained, No Injuries Reported
A significant warehouse fire occurred in Pompano Beach, Florida, on Saturday, leading to the destruction of a building located along North Dixie Highway and Northwest 15th Street. The fire, which started before 6 p.m., required a substantial response from firefighters across multiple agencies. According to Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, the blaze quickly escalated, producing large columns of smoke. Battalion Chief Rob Weihs noted the challenges faced by crews due to the deep-seated fire within the building. The fire was classified as a three-alarm incident, involving over 30 units from various agencies. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported among firefighters or civilians. The warehouse, situated approximately 100 yards from residential homes, prompted a swift mobilization to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties. Units remained on-site overnight to monitor for any potential rekindling, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
