Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 347 in Hauppauge Sends Three to Hospital, Road Reopens
A three-vehicle collision occurred on State Route 347 in Hauppauge, New York, on Saturday morning, resulting in three individuals being hospitalized, one with serious injuries. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the incident took place around 9:45 a.m. when a 45-year-old Brentwood woman, driving a 2008 Acura, attempted an illegal left turn from an eastbound lane of Route 347 onto Route 111. Her vehicle struck a 2019 Toyota traveling westbound on Route 347, which subsequently collided with a 2020 Hyundai sedan in the right lane. The 68-year-old driver of the Toyota and his female passenger, also 68 and from Lake Grove, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where the woman received treatment for serious injuries.
