Woman Dies in Northeast D.C. Hit-and-Run Incident
A woman tragically died following a hit-and-run incident in Northeast D.C. on Sunday evening, according to an official report from the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred when Fifth District officers were dispatched to a reported traffic crash at the busy intersection of North Capitol Street and New York Avenue NE, responding around 6:51 p.m. The victim was struck by an occupied vehicle, which, instead of remaining at the scene, immediately fled after the collision.
