FDNY Battles Massive Factory Fire in Queens, No Injuries Reported
A massive fire broke out at a factory in Queens, New York, prompting hundreds of firefighters to respond to the scene. The fire started on Friday night at a building located on 130th Street in College Point, which houses a lumber yard and cabinetry business. Despite the intense flames and the presence of flammable materials, no injuries were reported. Firefighters initially attempted to extinguish the fire by entering the building but were forced to retreat due to the high volume of flames and fuel. The surrounding area, primarily industrial, includes car lots, warehouses, and auto shops. Residents were advised to keep windows closed to avoid smoke exposure. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
