Daejon Love Arrested for Allegedly Posing as 49ers Player in $1.3 Million Wire Fraud Scheme
Daejon Love, 35, has been arrested and charged with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud in Portland, Oregon. He is accused, alongside Taylor Chan, of conning over two dozen women out of approximately $1.3 million. The scheme, which began in February 2022, involved Love meeting most of his victims through dating apps. According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Love and Chan created fictitious investments to defraud women across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Love allegedly used false personas, including impersonating an NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers or a wealthy real estate investor, to present himself as a rich man seeking love on social media and in person. He used pseudonyms such as Jon Love, Avril Lyto Love, and Jordan Love.
